Med intet mindre end 25 nomineringer lagde ‘Game of Thrones’ sig solidt i spidsen, da Emmy-nomineringerne – den amerikanske tv-branches svar på Oscar – blev annonceret i går.
HBO-fortællingen blev naturligvis nomineret som bedste dramaserie, ligesom Peter Dinklage (Tyrion), Lena Headey (Cersei) og Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) som ventet fik hæder i skuespillerkategorierne, der for første gang inkluderer op til otte nomineringer i anerkendelse af, at både kvaliteten og kvantiteten af tv-serier er steget markant de seneste år. ‘Game of Thrones’ løb også med et hav af tekniske priser i det massive nomineringsfelt (nedenfor har vi kun samlet de vigtigste priser – se de tekniske priser her).
I hælene på ‘Game of Thrones’ fulgte antologiserien ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ med 19 nomineringer og HBO-miniserien ‘Olive Kitteridge’ med 13. Både ‘House of Cards’, ‘Mad Men’ og Amazons ‘Transparent’ fik skrabet 11 nomineringer sammen.
At HBO stadig er tv-verdenens konge, blev også fastslået af Emmy-akademiet. Selskabet hentede hele 126 nomineringer, mens ABC på andenpladsen stod for 42.
Blandt de positive overraskelser var, at flere skuespillere, som vi havde heppet, men ikke troet på, klarede cuttet: Ben Mendelsohn for ‘Bloodline’ og Tatiana Maslany for ‘Orphan Black’ (endelig!).
Til gengæld blev ‘The Americans’ skammeligt forbigået, og Emmy-akademiet faldt heller ikke for den hyperpopulære ‘Empire‘, der måtte nøjes med en birollenomineringer til Taraji P. Henson. Meget kan man sige om Emmy-medlemmerne, men de følger ikke per automatik strømmen, og som sædvanlig blev en af serieverdens mest konsekvent populære serier, ‘The Walking Dead’, også forbigået.
Blandt de mere spøjse titler på listen er den slagtede Nicole Kidman-film ‘Grace of Monaco’, som åbnede Cannes-festivalen sidste år, men nu er blevet en tv-film i USA på sødsuppekanalen Lifetime.
Det er også værd at bemærke, at akademiet for første gang i umindelige tider forbigik Jim Parsons i komediekategorien. Der er håb for menneskeheden endnu!
