Alfonso Gomez-Rejons coming of age-drama om venskabet mellem den socialt akavede teenager, Greg, og hans leukæmiramte klassekammerat, Rachel, hjemtog indiefestivalens to vægtigste priser, the ’U.S. Dramatic Grand Jury Prize’ og ’The U.S. Dramatic Audience Award’.
’The Wolfpack’ om en flok filmnørder, der afskærmer sig selv fra virkeligheden, blev hyldet som bedste dokumentar, mens ’Dope’ – beskrevet som en afroamerikansk pendant til ’Superbad’ – vandt for bedste klipning. ’The Stanford Prison Experiment’ med blandt andre Ezra Miller og Tye Sheridan på rollelisten hjemtog hæderen for bedste manuskript.
