I går løb årets udgave af den traditionsrige prisuddeling American Music Awards af stablen.
Taylor Swift er den kunstner i historien, der har vundet flest AMA-priser – hele 40 af slagsen. Men for andet år i streg gik hun, trods otte nomineringer, tomhændet hjem fra showet, skriver Billboard.
I stedet blev aftenens hele store vinder BTS, som tidligere i år gjorde comeback med deres første album i fire år, ‘Arirang’. K-pop-gruppen nappede hovedprisen Artist of the Year og vandt derudover i kategorierne Song of the Summer (for sangen ‘Swim’) og Best Male K-Pop Artist.
Andre vindere talte Bruno Mars, Sabrina Carpenter, Cardi B, Katseye og Sombr, som fik tre priser hver på tværs af de forskellige kategorier.
American Music Awards nominerer musikere ud fra kommercielle parametre og finder vinderne gennem offentlig afstemning. Det er dermed i høj grad en pris dikteret af de forskellige konkurrenters dedikerede fanbaser.
Prisuddelingen har fundet sted siden 1974 og holdt for første gang pause i perioden 2023-2024. Sidste år genopstod showet på en ny tv-kanal.
