Selvom den traditionsrige Met Gala altid er en af verdens fremmeste arenaer for kostumer, var temaet i år bogstaveligt talt »costume art«.
Stjernerne strømmede til mandag aften, hvor festen blev afholdt, og de vilde outfits som altid stod i kø.
Lige så vel som begivenheden altid tiltrækker stor opmærksomhed, afløber den som regel heller ikke uden en vis kritik. I år har der været opfordret til boykots fra aktivistgrupper, fordi Amazon-stifteren Jeff Bezos og hans kone Lauren Sanchéz Bezos, meget apropos handlingen biografaktuellle ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, var gjort til medarrangører af kvinden bag det hele Anna Wintour. Det skriver blandt andet The New York Times.
