I nat blev hovedpriserne ved tv-verdenens svar på Oscar, Emmy Awards, uddelt ved et primært virtuelt show med Jimmy Kimmel som vært på en scene foran et tomt publikum.
Coronabegrænsningerne skulle dog ikke afholde priserne fra at blive uddelt, og der tegnede sig nogle ret entydige vindere undervejs.
På dramafronten blev ‘Succession’ den store vinder med sin mesterlige sæson 2, mens den herhjemme meget oversete ‘Shitt’s Creek’ ganske overraskende nærmest ryddede bordet på komediefronten.
Også Damon Lindelof og ‘Watchmen’-holdet kan være tilfredse med hele 11 priser (de tekniske priser blev uddelt de foregående dage), hvilket gjorde serien til årets Emmy-topscorer.. Og så vandt Hulk i form af Mark Ruffalo over Wolwerine i form af Hugh Jackman. Førstnævnte for dobbeltrollen i ‘I Know This Much Is True’ – sidstnævnte var nomineret for ‘Bad Education’.
Endelig vandt Michael Jordan-serien ‘The Last Dance’ for bedste dokumentarserie.
HBO løb med flest priser i år – nærmere bestemt 30. Netflix fulgte efter med 21.
