På Soundvenues årsliste fik Caroline Polacheks ‘Desire I Want to Turn Into You’ titlen som årets bedste udenlandske album, men er vores internationale kolleger enige?
Det ser vi nærmere på her, hvor vi har samlet top 10-listerne fra en række af verdens mest toneangivende musikmedier.
Især SZA har god grund til at glæde sig over resultatet. Hendes album ‘SOS’ topper nemlig listen hos både Pitchfork og Rolling Stone, selvom det teknisk set udkom i december sidste år – what?
Forklaringen er simpel: De fleste medier publicerer deres lister i begyndelsen af december, så album udgivet i midten eller slutningen af måneden er af gode grunde ikke med. Derfor vælger mange at inkludere disse udgivelser året efter, hvorfor ‘SOS’ altså betragtes som et 2023-album.
Udover ‘SOS’ er det især Olivia Rodrigos ‘Guts’, Boygenius’ ‘The Record’ og Wednesdays ‘Rat Saw God’, der går igen. Polacheks ‘Desire I Want to Turn Into You’ er også med på flere af listerne, men aldrig på førstepladsen.
