Søndag løb årets udgave af Emmy-uddelingen af stablen, hvor en ung, prisvindende herre satte aldersrekord.
15-årige Owen Cooper blev således historiens yngste til at vinde prisen for Bedste mandlige birolle i en miniserie eller film. Debutanten blev hædret for sin imponerende præstation som drengen Jamie, der bliver anklaget for at dræbe en klassekammerat i ‘Adolescence’.
Netflix-hittet var i det hele taget en betydelig sejrherre ved årets Emmy Awards med seks priser, herunder Bedste miniserie eller film og Bedste instruktion af miniserie eller film (Philip Barantini) samt Bedste mandlige hovedrolle i en miniserie eller film (Stephen Graham).
En anden dominerende serie var Seth Rogens ‘The Studio’, som allerede ugen inden havde vundet ni statuetter i de mindre belyste, primært tekniske kategorier til Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Søndag blev ‘The Studio’ hædret som Bedste komedieserie, og Rogen vandt selv prisen for Bedste mandlige hovedrolle i komediekategorien. I alt blev det til 13 Emmyer.
Andre prominente prismodtagere var Noah Wyle og Katherine LaNasa fra ‘The Pitt’, Britt Lower og Tramell Tillman fra ‘Severance’, Cristin Milioti fra ‘The Penguin’, Jeff Hiller fra ‘Somebody Somewhere’ samt Jean Smart og Hannah Einbinder fra ‘Hacks’.
Danske Janus Metz måtte gå tomhændet hjem efter en flot nominering i kategorien Bedste instruktion i en dramaserie for ‘Andor’-afsnittet ‘Who Are You?’. Her vandt i stedet ‘Slow Horses’-instruktør Adam Randall.
