Det er efterhånden blevet en tradition, at en serie slår rekord i komedie-kategorien ved Emmy-uddelingen.
I både 2023 og 2024 slog ‘The Bear’ rekorden for komedieserien med flest priser på et enkelt år (henholdsvis 10 og 11). I 2025 overtog ‘The Studio’ førstepladsen med 13 Emmy-statuetter.
Nu er begge populære serier blevet overgået af Apple TV’s gyserkomedie ‘Widow’s Bay’, som efter sidste uges uddelingen af de såkaldte Creative Arts Emmy Awards og nattens hoveduddeling har sejret i hele 14 kategorier ud af 19 nomineringer. Det skriver Variety.
‘Widow’s Bay’ vandt blandt andet hovedprisen Bedste komedieserie samt skuespilpriser til birollerne Stephen Root og Kate O’Flynn og hovedrolleindehaver Matthew Rhys.
Sidstnævnte skrev ydermere historie med dobbelthæder. Han vandt således også prisen for Bedste mandlige hovedrolle i en miniserie, antologiserie eller film for sin præstation i Netflix-thrilleren ‘The Beast in Me’.
Hospitalshitserien ‘The Pitt’ vandt for andet år i træk hovedprisen Bedste dramaserie. Også Noah Wyle gentog sejren i kategorien Bedste mandlige hovedrolle i en dramaserie. Hele tre ‘The Pitt’-kollegaer var nomineret i den tilsvarende birollekategori, men de blev slået af Tom Pelphrey fra ‘Task’.
En anden genganger ved Emmy-showet var Jean Smart, der for femte gang blev kåret som Bedste kvindelige hovedrolle i en komedieserie for femte og sidste sæson af ‘Hacks’. Hun står nu lige med Julia Louis-Dreyfus og Cloris Leachman som skuespillerne med flest Emmy-statuetter i karrieren, nemlig otte.
