Danskproducerede ‘The Cave‘ gik hele vejen ved nattens Emmy-uddeling, hvor den modtog prisen for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking.
Prisen markerede filmens anden Emmy-statuette, efter den tidligere på ugen vandt prisen for bedste fotografering.
Uddelingen skete som del af Emmys såkaldte Creative Arts Awards, der fungerer som en slags opvarmning til den store Emmy-ceremoni, der bliver afviklet i nat.
‘The Cave’, der tidligere på året var nomineret til en Oscar, er instrueret af Feras Fayyad og følger den unge børnelæge Dr. Amani, der kæmper utrætteligt for at redde liv i et underjordisk hospital i den borgerkrigsramte by Ghouta i Syrien.
Også blandt aftenens vindere var ‘The Last Dance‘, der vandt prisen for bedste dokumentarserie. ‘Rick and Morty‘ vandt prisen for bedste animerede program, mens Eddie Murphy fik sin første Emmy for sin gæsteoptræden i ‘Saturday Night Live’. ‘Bad Education‘ vandt desuden prisen for bedste tv-film og svenske Ludwig Göransson blev hædret for sin musik til ‘The Mandalorian‘.
Emmy-uddelingens hovedshow løber af stablen virtuelt natten til mandag dansk tid.
