Den amerikanske streamingtjeneste FilmStruck, som specialiserer sig i nye og ældre arthousefilm, startede i tirsdags Twitter-udfordringen #FilmStruck4. »Vi vil fejre filmkunstens personlige natur og fylde jeres startside med de film, som har formet jer«, skrev de fra deres egen Twitter-profil.
Snart spredte udfordringen, hvor man udvælger fire film, sig til diverse Hollywood-personligheder. ’Moonlight’-instruktør Barry Jenkins valgte eksempelvis Aleksandr Sokurovs ’Russian Ark’, Gus van Sants ’Elephant’, Claire Denis’ ’Friday Night’ og Wong Kar-wais ’In the Mood for Love’.
Andre filmfolk havde sværere ved at holde sig inden for udfordringens rammer. Den Oscar-vindende instruktør Guillermo del Toro blev eksempelvis nødt til at vælge otte film, mens Jessica Chastain både valgte fire film og fire skuespilpræstationer. ’Star Wars: The Last Jedi’-instruktør Rian Johnson bevægede sig helt væk fra filmmediet og uvalgte med hashtagget #GameStruck4 fire essentielle videospil.
